(MMIA), Jayne Shoboiki, has said the command does not accord any preferential treatment to any gruop in its operations hence all stakeholders operate at a level-playing
field.

The Controller spoke while playing host to a delegation from the National Association of Government Approved Freight
Forwarders (NAGAFF), who visited her.
Earlier, the team led by the President of NAGAFF, Chief Increase Uche, had alleged
that the command was known for favouring some stakeholders more than others.
While insisting that the command had no preference for anybody or group,
the Customs Comptroller made it clear that the Service was for all those who
make facilitate trade through honest declaration.
“I will not give preferential treatment to any agency in the course of
doing my job in this office”, saying that the previous faceoff between her and
the association had become a thing of the past.
Chief Uche while commending the CAC for her cordial reception of the group
reeled out the various reform measures embarked on by NAGAFF that had led to
the present state of the association.
He used the opportunity to appeal to the Federal Government to address
the traffic gridlock that had totally paralysed the port environment, adding
that holding bays for trucks that line up the port routes should urgently be
established to stem the crisis.
For now, he said, the authorities should halt further influx into Lagos
by trucks by restricting their movement to a place like the Lagos-Ibadan axis
until the current congestion was completely addressed.
