Christ Against Drug Abuse Ministry (CADAM), a faith-based Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) under the auspices of the Redeemed Christian Church of God has recently restructured to improve on her scope of service delivery towards ensuring more people, especially the Youths are saved from the ravaging scourge of Drugs and Substance Abuse.
The NGO catered for the treatment and rehabilitation of drug dependent people at its world-class rehabilitation centre (Enoch and Folu Adeboye Rehabilitation Centre) in Araga, Epe, Lagos State.
A statement by the NGO stated that the organisation at her last Board of Trustees Meeting which held at the head office in Ikeja, Lagos, appointed four new Directors.
The Board appointed a Director General, Dokun Adedeji, Director, Rehabilitation and Field Operations, Tony Ohanyere, Director, Programs and Orientation, Funke Salako and Director, Finance and Corporate Services, Sola Odewabi.
The statement read: “Adedeji is a medical graduate of the University of Ife, Ile-Ife. He was the Company Medical Advisor of Cadbury Nigeria Plc and later became the Head of HR before he voluntarily retired in 2010. He won the prestigious Chairman’s Award for Employee Involvement in the Community whilst in Cadbury because of his work in CADAM. He is a prolific writer and speaker.
“Ohanyere, obtained his law degree from the University of Lagos and attended certificate courses twice at the famous Cambridge University in the United Kingdom. He has a Doctor of Science degree (DSC Honorary Causa) from the European – American University. He also attended the prestigious National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies Kuru, Jos. OHANYERE is an internationally acclaimed writer and has authored 18 books. He is a retired Assistant Commander General of Narcotics of NDLEA. He has also won several awards both locally and internationally.
“Salako, is a Pharmacist with over 20 years’ management experience spanning Pharmaceutical Sales and Marketing, Advertising & Public Relations, Events Management, Marketing Research and Marketing Management has exceptional ability to organize people into cohesive winning teams and mobilize resources towards development and translation of strategic vision into reality.
“Odewabi, graduated from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile Ife in 1992 with a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting. He is a Fellow of Institute of Chartered Accountant of Nigeria (FCA) and Associate member of Chartered Institute of Taxation (ACIT). He has successfully completed a professional certification course from Wharton School (University of Pennsylvania) in Business and Financial Modelling. He had previously worked as an Auditor, Financial Controller, Relationship Manager and Consultant.”
The Directors have the responsibility of charting a new course that takes the organization into both national and global reckoning through her various services to humanity and the society at large. CADAM’s services now include Preventive care, Treatment and Rehabilitation and Aftercare . With this multipronged approach to fighting Drug and substance abuse , a generation of future leaders will be saved from the harmful effects of Illicit Drugs. CADAM therefore beckons on all and sundry to join hands in the war against Drug and Substance Abuse and together we can restore hope to the hopeless and make our world a safer place for ALL.
