Black Saturday in Hannover terminal as Agent slumped, dies

Harboursandport.com: Lagos - A tragic incident occurred on weekend at Tin can Island Port as a clearing agent operating at Hannover General Bonded Terminal, slumped and later declared dead in Apapa General Hospital as about 7 pm.


According to the information gathered by Habours and Port, the agent, who was identified as Henry Onwukwe, 35, struggled on Friday to exit one of the two consignments out of the terminal, later slumped in the process.

The Late Onwukwe, who was taken to Apapa General Hospital where he met his untimely death, was previously rushed to Lagoon Hospital in Apapa but was allegedly rejected by the hospital personnel.

The deceased who hailed from Enugu State, has been alleged to have died of stress and possible heart attack.

The report also confirmed that the corpse of the late agent has been deposited in a mortuary in Enugu state, yesterday.

Late Henry who was one of the agents assigned to report any demurrage charges and other irregularities happening at the facility to the Nigerian Shippers’ Council (NSC), left behind a pregnant wife.
