The Executive Governor of Kano State, Abdullahi
Umar Ganduje, has signed a new Kano Emirate Bill into Law right after the law
was approved by the State House of Assembly.

Under the newly passed law, it revealed that
Governors now has the absolute authority to appoint the Emir as well as Kingmakers.
He also has the authority to approve Emirates’ fiscal budgets.
He however, cautioned all the Emirs to abide by
the law as any defaulter will be strictly sanctioned.
