‘Federal agencies drain our federation account allocation’

Katsina State Governor Aminu Masari has decried what he described as the increasing demands from federal agencies in the state, which he said has placed a huge burden on receipts from the Federation Account.

Masari, who  stated this when he received a delegation of Revenue Mobilization Allocation and Fiscal Commission, RMARFC, led by Ibrahim Bagudu at Government House, observed that officials of Federal Ministries, Departments and Agencies-MDAs have to always be provided with office and accommodation as well as vehicles for their transportation needs, thereby overburdening the allocation received from the federation account.

“Despite the vertical allocation being in the exclusive list, every federal agency that comes into Katsina requests for so many things all the security agencies without the support of the state government would have folded up.”

Bagudu, the RMAFC team leader told the governor that the team was among six other delegations sent to the six geo-political zones to meet with stakeholders on current efforts to review the revenue allocation formula in the country.
