Harboursandport.com: Lagos - Barely 48 hours after some armed protesters opened fire on the Anti Kidnapping Unit office of Lagos State Police Command in Surulere, killing a Police Inspector and injuring two others, another Policeman Sergeant Elisha Michael with Force number 409931is currently being hospitalised following a violent attack on a Police Post in Oshodi Tapa area of the state on Tuesday.
Apart from the sergeant, some other
Policemen also sustained different degrees of injuries during the attack.
The Police Post was formerly used by
the just disbanded SARS, as a satellite office but has since been taken over by
the operatives of Adeniji Adele Division in compliance with the IGP's directive
and closure of all SARS offices including satellite offices across the state by
the Commissioner of Police, Lagos State.
However, the protesters were said to
have intentionally besieged the Police formation and
attacked the officers.
The Commissioner of Police CP Hakeem Odumosu, has however
condemned such attacks on Police personnel since the Police have always been
calm and professional in handling protests across the state.
The CP also appealed to the protesters to be organized
and avoid actions that can trigger crises in the state as all hands will be on
deck to sustain peace within the length and breadth of Lagos State.Policeman
