Harboursandport.com: Port Harcourt – Two students of Ignatius Ajuru University of Education, Port Harcourt, Rivers state were suspended on Wednesday for one academic session for perceived inciting social media posts on happenings in the institution.

Sunday Okpokpo of the Department of Political Science, Faculty of Social
Sciences were suspended for allegedly creating panic in the varsity over the
weekend when he, in a social post, called for the cancellation of final year
examinations scheduled to commence November 2 as well as the school
Matriculation billed for November 7.
In a separate decision, the university authority, through a letter by
Dr. C.A. Ajie, Director, Students Affairs, suspended Chibuzor Remmy of the
Department of Educational Management, Faculty of Education, for mobilising
fellow students to protest against the University having only one bank on
campus, in a Wednesday social media post.
The suspension letters read that both students are to lose the 2019/2020
session and to resume school in the 2020/2021 academic session repeating their
current study levels and are "not to be seen on any of the three campuses
unless on invitation."
Each of them is also expected to "hand over the University
properties in his possession to his Head of Department or Hall Warden",
the suspension letters stated.
