Late Princewill Ekwujuru: NUJ Lagos Council Visits Vanguard Newspaper

Harboursandport.com: Lagos - The Chairman and executives of the Lagos State Council of the Nigerian Union of Journalists, NUJ, Mr. Adeleye Ajayi, Tuesday paid a courtesy visit to Vanguard Newspaper over the death of Mr. Princewill Ekwujuru, who died last week from complications from motor-bike (Okada) accident in Lagos.

Lagos State NUJ Council Chairman, Mr. Adeleye Ajayi

Ajayi called on the Federal Government to as a matter of urgency fix the failed portion of roads in Lagos, such as Apapa-Oshodi, Mile2-Badagry expressway and others to prevent future untimely deaths.

The NUJ Lagos Council Chairman said it is high time the Federal Government wakes up to its responsibilities to the citizenry, as Mr. Ekwujuru’s death is one death too many. He said if the roads were motorable, there would be no need for Mr. Ekwuruju and others who have died from motor-bike accidents to take a bike in the first place.

He assured staff of the Vanguard Newspaper that the state council will soon visit the family of the deceased as well as partake in his burial.

He described the late Ekwujuru as a dedicated, upright, and diligent writer that will be sorely missed by the deceased family, Vanguard family and the NUJ family.

He assured that he and his executive members are open to advice and are easily accessible, calling on members to channel any advice for the betterment and improvement of the members of the council to them.
