Harboursandport.com: Equatorial Guinea - Two days after pirates attacked a container vessel around Equatorial Guinea waters, another cargo vessel has been shot at in what is suspected to be a kidnapping attempt.
The incident occurred around 13nm NW of Bata, Equatorial Guinea waters on the 15 December 2021, 2130hrs local time.
Though the incident left one crew member injured, none was kidnapped from the ship that was positioned on 02°0'N, 009°35'E which was 12nm from the shore.
Report made available to Harboursandport.com showed that it was the Equatorial Guinea Navy that responded to the detress call by the ship crew.
