Despite the payment of N50m for the All Progressives Congress, APC 2023 Gubernatorial Elections Ticket, there are clear indications that the Governor Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna State has kicked out Dr Bashir Jamoh, Director General of the Nigerian Maritime Admistration and Safety Agency (NIMASA) from being the party's governorship candidate.
According to sources, Governor Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna State has anointed Senator Uba Sani as the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, for the 2023 election.
The governor made the decision after meeting with some of the aspirants in a meeting recently, where he sought their support for Senator Uba Sani for the Governorship seat.
Some maritime stakeholders are questioning how the NIMASA boss got N50 million as a public officer for the acquisition of the form in the first place.
It was also gathered that the governor asked the former Chief of Staff and two-time former Commissioner of Budget and Planning, Muhammed Sani Abdullahi, popularly known as Dattijo, to pick the form for Kaduna Central Senatorial District.
In his words: "At a meeting on Wednesday, the Governor directed that we rally round Senator Uba Sani for the Governorship seat. He has asked that I pick up the form for the Senatorial seat for Kaduna Central.
"While this outcome is not what we have planned or hoped for, we have accepted it as Allah SWT's will who provides to whom he wishes, when he wishes. Therefore we have entrusted our future to Him and prayed the State and the Nation will have the best of leaders in 2023.
"I remain grateful for Mallam's mentorship and for your unwavering support, which I do not take for granted. I had earlier purchased the APC Governorship form but will be picking up the Senate form as directed inshaAllah.
"I hope we can continue to work together for the success of the APC in all elections. Your support is not taken for granted and will always be remembered and appreciated. Allah ya bar zumunci" Dattijo said.
He however advised Dr. Bashir Jamoh to however continue holding the flag as Director-General of NIMASA and hopefully contest again in 2027 for the Governor's seat.
"Dr Bashir Jamoh, should continue as DG NIMASA, he is still young and can conveniently contest Governorship Election in 2027, God willing" Dattijo allegedly advised.
