Customs Shuns Judges Invitation To 16th Maritime Seminar

Harboursandport.com: Abuja - The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) Tuesday shunned invitation to the Service by the organisers of the 16th Maritime Seminar For Judges which focuses on training for Judges and other judicial officials on maritime law.

The visitation was extended to the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA), the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Satefy Agency (NIMASA), and the NCS.

While the management of the NPA sent a representative for it's Chief Executive, the Director General of NIMASA, Dr. Bashir Jamoh was on ground himself on the second day, Customs had not representation at the event that had Chief Justices and other senior Judges from five countries.

These agencies were expected to speak on technical issues in their areas of operations to give the judiciary a better understanding what they do.

During the first session, questions were raised as to why Customs was not only absent but why they were not represented to the event.
