MESAN Tasks NIMASA On Payment Of Captain Ogunsakin, Crew Members Unpaid Salaries

The Merchant Seafarers Association of Nigeria (MESAN) has called on the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA) to pay the unpaid salaries of Captain William Ogunsakin and other crew members of MT ADEBOMI.
Addressing the Director General of NIMASA in a letter signed by the Admin of the association,  Mr S'Schweizer George Esq. which was made available to our correspondent, the association noted that information gathered from a reliable source show that the concerned ship is put up for sale informing that the group has filed a court action to that regard.

MESAN however called on NIMASA as a regulatory agency to swifting intervene into the conflicting issues and desist from clearing MT ADEBOMI for sales.

The Letter read "Pursuant to our letter of May 27, 2020 with the above subject matter clearly highlighted as regard Captain William Rotimi Ogunsakin and the crews of MT ADEBOMI unpaid salaries.

"It's imperative to notify you that the matter is already in court and the concern ship is put up for sale according to information reaching as from an impeccable source, however, while we sit aloof to watch out for the next line of actions, it is trite law to send a note of warning to them, reminding them of the implication of their action.

"We are confident in your ability not to clear MT ADEBOMI for sales, as we are beaconing on you to use your good office to expedite action at the earliest possible time.

"Accept our highest regards" it concluded.
