Thesaurus Gardens Launches Bay For Waterways Transportation In Lagos

Harboursandport.com: Lagos - To birth a faster means of transportation for residents of Etti-Osa East LCDA and Lagos State in general, Thesaurus Group Limited has launched its Bay in Sangotedo where people can commute from there to Ikoyi, CMS, Falomo or any part of Lagos through the waterways.

Speaking during the launch, Managing Director of Thesaurus Group Limited, Mr. Bolaji Olasode, said: “We are here to celebrate public-private partnership on sustainable growth and development of infrastructure. We are partnering with Lagos State on Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu T.H.E.M.E agenda.

“We are also partnering with BCIS Gardens Lekkki and other resorts, where we would make sure they can have a real-time experience of Lagos waterways and revel in its beauty. We are taking off with three boats but we intend to improve from time to time.

Our prices are affordable. The boats come with a tracking device such that you can see the movement of the boats on water from Sangotedo to Falomo. We also have an emergency rescue mission, in case there is any boat mishap. This is also coming with our security personnel on board. Our security personnel are going to ensure the safe movement of people across the creek. This is open to everyone.

“Last year we said we would start water transportation and now we are introducing another package into it which we call the 'Tour of Omu Creek;' whereby people can commute on our jetty opposite Crown Estate to see the beautiful creek of Omu and from there to Ilashe and Epe and other areas of Lagos State.

“The next phase is for us to build a world-class Pelican Resort at Sangotedo, the facilities include a creek lounge and a floating lounge. We also have an aquatic conservation centre for the preservation of exotic and rare fishes in Omu Creek.

“One of the core potentials that people are yet to explore is aquaculture and that is where the world is driving to and we know that conventionally people have been practicing fish farming and other kinds of aquatic business but we are looking for a way that we are not only going to be the platform but we would also create an interface for investors to come and invest on aquaculture.”

Also speaking at the event, Chairman, Etti-Osa East Local Council Development Area, LCDA, Mr John Ogundara, said “the establishment of Thesaurus Bay will usher in another economic opportunity, which will not only open a new chain of employment but will also boost our internal revenue in Etti-Osa East LCDA and Lagos State in general.

“With this development, our people and other road users have been gifted with a liable option and pressure will be lifted off our road.”
