NDLEA Links Tin-can Drug Seizures to Cartels At Airports

" They are the same syndicate, virtually they are operating everywhere; both at the seaport and the airports; "

Harboursandport.com: Lagos - The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, (NDLEA ), has linked the importation of the recently seized 23 packages of heroin at the Lagos Tin-can Island port to the same cartel operating at the nation’s airports.

The Commandant Narcotics, NDLEA, Tin Can Island Port, Mohammed Aminu Abubakar, said that investigations have linked the seized heroine at the Murtala Mohammed International Airport.

Recall that the Tin-can Island Custom Command handed over seized items including Indian Hemp and heroin to the officials of the Department of State Security  Services (DSS) and their counterparts of the  NDLEA.

During the receipt of the illicit drugs from the Nigeria Customs Service, NCS, the Tin-can NDLEA Tin-can boss,  thanked the Special Intelligence Unit of the NDLEA for their intelligence which resulted in the seizure of the drugs.

“Some of you asked whether there was any arrest, it is the work of a special syndicate in the trafficking of illicit hard drugs across different nations. The arrest here has a relationship with the recent arrest at the Murtala Mohamed International Airport, MMIA.

“I think some of you are witnesses to what happened at the airport, we arrested 51.9 kilograms of heroin.

They are the same syndicate, virtually they are operating everywhere; both at the seaport and the airports; the collaboration of our sister agencies, especially the Customs, resulted in this success.

This is a warning to those who want to continue partaking in this illicit and dangerous trade across the nation.

There are a lot of arrests being made at the airport about this, and that is why here at the seaport concerning this seizure, we are not doing anything about it for now because most of the people connected to the import have been rounded up.
