Harboursandport.com: Lagos state, Nigeria: The Executive Secretary and Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian Shippers’ Council, Akutah Pius Ukeyima, has praised the Comptroller General of Customs, Adewale Adeniyi, for launching the Authorized Economic Operators, AEO Program.
This initiative, along with other reforms, is designed to modernize the Customs Service and enhance trade facilitation in Nigeria.
The Shippers Council boss commendation highlights the importance of these initiatives in improving the efficiency of Customs operations and ultimately boosting the country's trade environment.
Akutah made this commendation at the launch of the AEO Program held in Lagos. He emphasized that the current administration is pleased with the significant contributions of the Nigeria Customs Service to the nation's economy.
This acknowledgment reflects the positive impact of the Customs reforms and initiatives on trade and economic growth in Nigeria.
In his remarks, the Customs boss referred to the newly introduced AEO program as a crucial trade facilitation mechanism that he believes will be a game-changer for Nigeria’s economy.
He highlighted the program's potential to streamline Customs processes, enhance efficiency, and ultimately contribute to the growth of trade in the country.
According to him, the AEO program will enhance competitiveness and reduce customs clearance time.
