WISTA Nigeria Applauds Female Leadership in Africa’s Maritime Sector

Harboursandport.com: Lagos - June 30,2025: The Women’s International Shipping and Trading Association (WISTA) Nigeria has proudly celebrated the recent appointments of two distinguished female leaders within the African maritime landscape, recognizing their achievements as significant milestones for gender representation and visionary leadership across the continent.

Madam Jemilat Mahamah has been appointed Chairperson of the Board of the Ghana Maritime Authority, a position that underscores her exemplary contributions to maritime governance. In parallel, Ms. Iroghama Ogbeifun, Chief Executive Officer of Starzs Investments and an esteemed long-standing member of WISTA Nigeria, has been appointed to the Board of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA) by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Dr. Odunayo Ani, President of WISTA Nigeria, remarked that these appointments bring immense pride not only to WISTA Nigeria but also to WISTA Ghana, WISTA Africa, and the global WISTA network.
