LEAD Integrated Security Solutions Launches in Nigeria, Ushers in New Era of Smart, Tech-Driven Security

In a bold move set to reshape Nigeria’s private security landscape, LEAD Integrated Security Solutions (LISS) — a subsidiary of the US-based LEAD Security Group — officially launched operations in Lagos on Thursday, July 24, 2025, with a strong promise to deliver innovative, tech-enabled security solutions tailored to African realities.

The high-profile unveiling ceremony, held at the Lagos Continental Hotel, Victoria Island, brought together security experts, policymakers, international partners, and stakeholders from across sectors, all united by a shared vision to revolutionize security services in Nigeria and beyond.

Speaking during the launch, Mr. Ifeanyi Obinali, President and CEO of LISS, highlighted the company's mission to bridge the gap between physical security and digital intelligence. He emphasized the importance of adopting technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI) and big data to tackle Nigeria’s growing security challenges.

“AI is no longer the next big thing—it is the now thing,” Obinali said. “We’re bringing a hybrid approach that combines physical security with smart, predictive systems to detect and respond to threats before they escalate.”

Obinali, a member of the American Society for Industrial Security (ASIS) with over 16 years of experience in corporate security, crisis response, and intelligence operations, noted that the company plans to begin with Nigeria and expand gradually across the African continent. He added that the parent company in the United States already operates across critical sectors in New York and New Jersey with a team of over 350 professionals.

Also speaking, Mr. Mike Petty, Managing Director of US-based Thermal Imaging Radar, praised the LISS initiative, stressing the importance of deploying advanced surveillance systems tailored for Africa.

“Real security goes beyond uniforms and foot patrols. It’s about having eyes where humans can’t reach. LISS is taking that bold step,” he noted.

Mr. Tobias See, Managing Director of Riley Falcon Security Services in Nairobi, Kenya, commended LISS for customizing security technologies to fit Africa’s context. “Our continent has unique security challenges. Companies like LISS give us hope that solutions are not only possible but imminent,” he said.

Delivering remarks as a guest speaker, Brigadier General Ahmed Mohammed (Rtd), a Senior Regional Vice President of ASIS, hailed Obinali’s return to Nigeria with a wealth of international experience. He affirmed confidence in LISS’s capacity to deliver results, noting that “Nigeria’s security sector needs a bold, fresh approach — and this is it.”

On the cybersecurity front, Emmanuel Enamejewa, a cybersecurity engineer and threat detection expert, underscored the need for Africa to embrace AI, data analytics, and homegrown solutions in managing security threats — especially with over 1,400 porous borders in Nigeria alone.

“Africa’s major problem is the slow pace of technology adoption. But with firms like LISS leading the charge, there’s hope,” Enamejewa stated. He also urged government support in building infrastructure, talent, and awareness to create an enabling environment for digital security growth.

In his role as Master of Ceremonies, Mr. Hyacinth Nwafor, Managing Director of Hybridnewsng Global Digital Media Ltd., described the occasion as “the birth of a legacy.” He noted that LISS is not just a new entrant in the market, but a pacesetter with a vision to redefine the meaning of security through technology, innovation, and professionalism.

“LISS isn’t following the path — it’s creating one. It’s about proactive, predictive, and intelligent solutions for a world that’s constantly changing,” Nwafor remarked.

The event featured live demonstrations of security innovations, a formal unveiling of the LISS brand, interactive sessions, and networking among industry players. Stakeholders, clients, and potential investors were also in attendance, signaling strong confidence in LISS's value proposition.

With its unique blend of global expertise, advanced technologies, and a deep understanding of Nigeria’s security challenges, LISS is positioning itself as a major force in the drive toward a smarter, safer, and more responsive security industry across Africa.
