Harboursandport.com: Lagos, Nigeria - August 19, 2025: The Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency, NIMASA has announced the promotion of nine Deputy Directors to the rank of Director, as part of a broad-based staff elevation exercise approved by its Governing Board.
In total, 243 employees have advanced in their careers, reflecting the agency’s commitment to merit and performance.
Among those promoted to Director are Moji Jimoh, Coordinator of the Abuja Liaison Office; Odunayo Ani, Director of Internal Audit; Nneka Obianyor, Special Adviser to the Director General; and Biodun Fatade, Director of Procurement. Others include Oma Ofodile, Gloria Anyasodo, Abdulahi Yelwa, Umar Buba, and Umar Ibrahim Sidi.
The Board also approved the promotion of 30 Assistant Directors to Deputy Directors, 35 Chief Officers to Assistant Directors, and ratified the elevation of 169 additional staff members to higher grade levels.
Director General, Dayo Mobereola congratulated the newly promoted officers, emphasizing that the exercise was strictly merit-based. He encouraged all beneficiaries to see their elevation as a call to greater service and productivity.
“Our administration is committed to improved staff welfare. This promotion exercise is strictly merit-based, and we expect staff to reciprocate by rededicating themselves to higher productivity,” Mobereola stated.
He reaffirmed the agency’s dedication to fostering a transparent and rewarding career progression system, aligned with its mandate to enhance maritime safety and administration.
