Harboursandport.com: Lagos, Nigeria - August 6, 2025: The Maritime Reporters Association of Nigeria, MARAN has announced a new date and venue for its flagship event, the MARAN Annual Maritime Lecture, MAMAL 2025. The event is now set to take place on August 27, 2025, at the Four Points By Sheraton Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos—one day earlier than previously scheduled.



With the theme “Addressing the Burden of War Risk Insurance on Nigerian Maritime Trade,” the event will spotlight the persistent imposition of Extra War Risk Insurance (EWRI) premiums on vessels operating in Nigerian waters and the Gulf of Guinea, despite notable improvements in regional maritime security.


MARAN is rallying top-tier stakeholders from across the maritime sector, including: Adegboyega Oyetola, Minister of Marine and Blue Economy; Tantita Security Services Limited; Greg Ogbeifun, Maritime Industry Leader; Maritime Security Providers Association of Nigeria, MASPAN; Funke Agbor and Emeka Akabogu; and other  leading maritime lawyers
