Customs Boss Reaffirms CSR Commitment, Pledges Support to Sister Agencies Abuja, Nigeria – September 25, 2025

Harboursandportcom:Lagos-September 28, 2025:The Nigeria Customs Service, NCS has reaffirmed its commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility, CSR and pledged continued support to sister government agencies in fulfilling their mandates.

Comptroller-General of Customs, CGC Adewale Adeniyi, made this known during a courtesy visit by the Chairman of the Civil Service Commission, Tunji Olaopa, and his delegation to the Customs Headquarters in Abuja.

Adeniyi emphasized the importance of institutional collaboration and sustaining inter-agency bonds, describing the visit as a reaffirmation of long-standing cooperation.

“It is good to maintain good neighbourliness. This visit represents the expression of continued friendship and cooperation that we have enjoyed over the years,” Adeniyi said.

Highlighting the Service’s CSR efforts, the CGC recalled that Customs adopted a secondary school in Wuse earlier this year, impacting over 2,000 students with learning tools and equipment.
As part of its 2025–2026 capital projects, the Service is also remodeling the school’s assembly hall and installing solar lighting.

“Many of our officers began their careers in Wuse. Our professional history is tied to that community, and we remain committed to giving back,” he added.

Responding to the Commission’s request for operational vehicles, Adeniyi assured that the matter would be considered, noting that while resources may be limited, the Service remains committed to supporting sister agencies.

Olaopa commended the NCS for its reforms and innovations in revenue generation, describing Customs as “a partner in progress.”

“The President himself acknowledges the innovations brought to revenue generation. We consider Customs a model for other agencies,” Olaopa stated.

He also revealed that the Commission had recently launched its strategic plan and looked forward to deeper collaboration with Customs, particularly in CSR and infrastructure support.

The meeting concluded with both agencies pledging to sustain their partnership and deepen cooperation in pursuit of national development.
