Harboursandport.com: Lagos, Nigeria - September 2, 2025: The Nigerian Bar Association, NBA, Badagry Branch, has announced plans to honour Pius Akutah, Executive Secretary and CEO of the Nigerian Shippers' Council, NSC, through a commemorative publication recognizing his dedication to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
During a recent courtesy visit to the NSC Headquarters in Lagos, NBA Badagry Chairman, Arigbabuwo Lawal, revealed that the association will produce a special edition journal featuring contributions from distinguished legal minds. The publication will spotlight Akutah’s achievements at the NSC and his role in advancing national development through maritime reform.
Lawal praised the NSC’s pivotal role in enhancing port efficiency and driving the Marine and Blue Economy policy, noting that Akutah’s leadership has significantly improved trade facilitation across Nigeria’s shipping sector.
In response, Akutah expressed heartfelt appreciation for the planned honor, emphasizing the importance of legal professionals in safeguarding public interest. He reaffirmed the NSC’s commitment to working closely with the legal community to promote sustainable development and uphold the rule of law.
