Harboursandport.com: Lagos, Nigeria – October 21, 2025: In a bid to boost operational efficiency and enhance service delivery, the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency, NIMASA has announced a major reshuffling of its management team, affecting 56 senior staff members nationwide.
According to Osagie Edward, Head of Public Relations at NIMASA, the redeployment exercise is part of the agency’s renewed commitment to interdepartmental synergy and sustainable maritime development. Director General Dr. Dayo Mobereola emphasized that the restructuring aims to inject fresh energy into the system and align leadership with the agency’s strategic objectives.
Among the notable appointments is Olubusola Obasanjo-Akande, daughter of former President Olusegun Obasanjo, who now serves as Director, Western Zone.
Other key appointments include: Moji Jimoh – Director, Administration and Human Resources; Aishatu Jidda – Director, Planning, Research and Data Management Services; Heaky Dimowo – Director, Legal Services/Board Secretary; Isichei Osamgbi – Director, SERVICOM and Christopher Amakulo – Director, Special Duties.
Also affected by new posting are Gloria Anyasodo – Director, Cabotage Services; Salihu Abdullahi Yelwa – Director, Shipping Development; Nneka Obianyor – Director, Reforms Coordination and Blue Economy; Umar Ibrahim Sidi – Director, Maritime Labour Services; Oma Ofodile – Director, Marine Environment Management, Buba Umar – Director, Abuja Zonal Office and Ahmed Shittien – Special Adviser Technical to the Director General.
Mobereola urged the newly redeployed directors to bring their expertise to bear and work collaboratively to drive innovation, accountability, and growth across Nigeria’s maritime sector.
The reshuffling marks a new chapter in NIMASA’s efforts to streamline operations and reinforce its leadership capacity amid evolving industry demands.
