Harboursandport.com: Lagos, Nigeria - January 20, 2026: The Network of Nigerian Maritime Journalists, NNMJ has congratulated Comptroller-General of Customs, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, on his birthday.
The group, in a statement signed by Chairman Dele Aderibigbe and Secretary Moses Ebosele, praised Adeniyi’s leadership of the Nigeria Customs Service, NCS.
NNMJ said Adeniyi repositioned the Service, earning global recognition at the World Customs Organisation, WCO where he serves as Chairman.
The association described him as a reformer and “workaholic,” noting his indigenous B’odogwu initiative has boosted government revenue.
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has also commended Adeniyi’s tenure, citing improved community relations, consistent revenue growth, stronger trade partnerships, and enhanced border security.
NNMJ prayed for continued wisdom and strength for the Customs boss as he pilots the affairs of the Service.
