Oyo/Osun Command Surpasses 2025 Revenue Target By 15%, Records DPV of 2.7B in Anti-smuggling Operations

Harboursandportcom: Oyo/Osun: Nigeria -January 30, 2026: The Oyo/Osun Area Command of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) have recorded a strong  revenue performance of  generating ₦86.29 billion; and incredible anti-smuggling operations, with seizures valued at over ₦2.7 billion in 2025.


‎The Acting Customs Area Controller (CAC) of the Command, Deputy Comptroller Wale Moses Adewole, revealed this during his maiden press briefing, where he presented an analysis of the Command’s activities and outlined its renewed enforcement posture aimed at protecting the economy and strengthening border security.


‎While attributing the achievement to improved compliance by traders, effective monitoring mechanisms, intelligence-led enforcement, and the dedication of officers to lawful trade facilitation; Adewole said the Command not only surpassed its 2025 revenue target but also recorded a surplus of over ₦13.13 billion, representing a 15.22 per cent increase above expectations. 

‎Speaking on the anti-smuggling operations, DC Wale, informed the press that within one month of assumption of office, prohibited and smuggled goods Intercepted by the Command stood at a Duty Paid Value (DPV) of ₦2.7 billion.

‎The Seized prohibited items includes: Foreign Parboiled Rice 2,234 (50kg) Bags @ ₦385,210,215.00.

‎Used Tyres 1,112 Pieces @ ₦256,392,990.00.

‎Premium Motor Spirit 562 (25Litre) Kegs @ ₦33,683,119.00.

‎Used Clothes 124 Bales @ ₦782,444,250.00 

‎Cannabis Sativa (Indian Hemp) 37 Wraps @ ₦4,256,156.00. 

‎Codeine Syrup 15 Pieces @ ₦432,169.00, Tramadol 10 Packs (250MG) @

‎₦17,286,750.00. 

‎Used Shoes 42 Sacks @ ₦424,507,242.00. Foreign Spaghetti 110 Cartons @ ₦8,549,888.00. 

‎Used Compressors 150 Pieces @ ₦15,000,000

‎Adewole highlighted that the seizures were made possible through credible intelligence, sustained patrols, and strategic enforcement operations, stressing that the Command remains resolute in suppressing smuggling and safeguarding national economic interests.

‎He however warned smugglers to desist from illegal activities, noting that the Command would not relent in enforcing the law, while assuring compliant traders of continued support and facilitation of legitimate business.

‎The Acting CAC expressed appreciation to the Comptroller-General of Customs, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, for his leadership and support, as well as the Governor of Oyo State, Engr. Seyi Makinde, for his cooperation. He also commended officers of the Command, sister security agencies, stakeholders, and the media for their roles in achieving the recorded milestones.

‎He reaffirmed that the Oyo/Osun Command will sustain its zero-tolerance stance against smuggling while strengthening collaboration and stakeholder engagement to ensure economic security and steady revenue growth in the year ahead.
