Government Agencies May Sabotage Single Window, Musa Warns

By Ewrhujakpor Godfrey Bivbere

Harboursandport.com: Lagos, Nigeria - March 3, 2026: The Chairman and Managing Director of Widescope Logistics International, , Segun Musa, has expressed concerns that the proposed implementation of the Federal Government's Single Window project may fail unless some pressing issues are addressed.

Speaking with Harboursandport.com in his office in Lagos, Musa said that some government agencies may deliberately put stumbling blocks in the way to stall successful implementation.

The Widescope boss noted that not all government officials are happy with the planned implementation, as it is expected to deprive them of the physical contact from which they currently benefit.

He explained that once implementation begins, if even one agency refuses to process documents online, it undermines the efforts of all other agencies. In such situations, the affected consignment would not be able to leave the port.

According to him: "Single Window is just a jamboree; it might end up becoming like the Deep Blue Sea project.

"It is just fire brigade work. The same thing applies to the Single Window—you can even see the rush in its implementation.

"I listened to the registrar of the Council for the Regulation of Freight Forwarding in Nigeria (CRFFN), who visited me recently. I told him I wonder why all this noise about Single Window.

"I told him Single Window is just like a shell; the content of the shell is all these agencies that will key into it.

If the agencies that are supposed to be the content are not prepared, the Single Window will just remain a shell. It is just like when you have the body of a car—it accommodates the steering, the tires, the seats, the engine, etc. "Without these, the car remains only a shell."
