Shippers Council Boss Honoured With Lifetime Achievement Award At NSUK 25th Anniversary Celebration

Harboursandport.com: Abuja, Nigeria - April 30, 2026: The Executive Secretary and Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian Shippers’ Council, Akutah Pius,, has been conferred with the Lifetime Achievement and Impact Award by the National Alumni Association of Nasarawa State University, Keffi, NSUK.



The honour was presented in Abuja during an event commemorating the university’s 25th anniversary, a ceremony that also celebrated the institution’s founder and first Executive Governor of Nasarawa State, Senator Abdullahi Adamu, CON.



Akutah, who chaired the occasion, described the award as a profound recognition of service and a testament to the university’s enduring legacy. In his remarks, he highlighted the strategic location of Nasarawa State, noting that NSUK’s proximity to neighbouring states and the Federal Capital Territory has fostered diversity and inclusiveness within the institution.



He emphasized the importance of sustained investment in infrastructure, research, and academic development to position NSUK as a leading citadel of learning in Nigeria. According to him, the recent commissioning of the university’s Secretariat marks a “significant milestone” and signals a new era of institutional growth.


Akutah also urged alumni to take on a more active role in supporting the university’s advancement, stressing that collective effort remains essential for strengthening NSUK’s future.


He concluded by expressing deep appreciation to the Vice Chancellor, Professor Sa’adatu Hassan Liman, and the entire academic community for their unwavering commitment to excellence and the university’s continuous progress.
