Apapa Customs Boss Attributes Command's Achievements To Discipline, Revenue Drive, Stakeholder Engagement

Harboursandport.com: Lagos, Nigeria - May 13, 2026: The Customs Area Controller, CAC of the Nigeria Customs Service, NSC, Apapa Area Command,  Emmanuel Oshoba, has charged officers under of the Command to intensify efforts in revenue generation, strengthen anti-smuggling operations, and uphold professionalism in their daily duties.



Speaking during the Command’s monthly parade held on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, at the Apapa headquarters in Lagos, Oshoba emphasized the importance of discipline and efficiency in trade facilitation. 

He warned against unnecessary delays in cargo clearance, stressing that officers must protect the reputation of the Service.



“Any delay by any officer concerning any consignment will not be tolerated. Even at the gates, if a consignment is duly exited, there should be no delay,” he cautioned.



The CAC also urged officers to remain accessible and professional in their dealings with stakeholders, noting that the Service must not be perceived as a hindrance to trade progress. He further called for vigilance against smuggling, particularly illicit drugs and prohibited items, while warning against misconduct and improper dressing.



The parade featured the recognition of outstanding officers and units for exemplary service.

Some of the officers and Units that were recognized were Ismail Mohammed who was named Most Outstanding Officer of the Month while Augustine Ondoma, Bukola Olaleye, and Olalekan Salawu were honored for professionalism, innovation, and punctuality.


Officers of APM Terminal received the Excellence Award on Enforcement; as well as officers servicing at ECO SUPPORT Terminal who were recognized for outstanding revenue generation.


Oshoba explained that the award initiative was designed to encourage hard work, excellence, professionalism, and healthy competition among officers and units.
