Customs raids Iddo, Totowu creeks, impounds over 1,500 bags of rice

Harboursandport.com: Lagos --- Operatives of the Roving Unit of the Federal Operations Unit, FOU Zone A of the Nigeria Customs Service, NCS recently raided the creeks at Iddo area of Lagos, notorious as a smuggling route at about 11 pm, seizing over 710 begs of imported rice.

This is even as the unit also raided the Totowu creek, around Igando area of Lagos, impounding over 800 bags of rice being smuggled into the Lagos markets.
Harboursandport.com gathered that the immediate past Customs Area Controller, CAC of the Unit, Garba Uba Mohammed had ordered the raid of both locations dreaded for their notoriety in smuggling.
Roving unit headed by Riks Balewa, is also responsible for the interception of a truckload of codein, 49 cartons of tramadol and the 17 units of exotic vehicles recently displaced by the FOU Zone “A”.
