Harboursandport.com: Lagos - The Nigerian Customs Service (NCS) has said that the
procurement of new cargo handling equipment by Port and Cargo will aid the
performance of their duty.
Disclosing this to Harboursandport in Lagos at
the commissioning of the equipment, the Customs Area Controller, CAC, of
Tin-can Island Command, Mohammed Musa, said that it is a welcome development in
the part of Customs as the company is bringing equipment and infrastructures
that will contribute to the ease of doing business.
Represented by Deputy Comptroller,
Enforcement Unit at the Command, Dera Nnadi, said the new facilities will hopefully
reduce the dwell time of cargoes in the port.
He, however, appealed to the management to develop a maintenance
culture as well as replacing damaged equipment when the need arises.
