Maersk Nigeria boss still in coma

Harboursandport.com: Lagos – Six days after the armed attack on the Managing Director of Maersk Nigeria, Gildas Tohouo which resulted in the death of his wife, Bernadett Kurucz, Harboursandport can report that Tohouo is still in coma.
It was gathered that the incident occurred around 9pm Sunday 8th, after their electrician/building maintenance man came to the apartment under the guise of fixing an electrical fault.
Managing Director of Maersk Nigeria, Gildas Tohouo

The man was said to have smuggled an accomplice into the building who he claimed was a guest at the party going on at an expatriate’s flat, the next neighbour.
Having successfully smuggled his accomplice in, they were alleged to have tampered with electricity into the Tohouo’s and then requested their permission to enter their apartment to resolve the power issue.
As soon as he was granted access, the suspect and his accomplice allegedly separated the man from his wife; forced the woman to transfer some money to their account, collected her Automated Teller Machine (ATM) card and thereafter stabbed her.
They allegedly forced her to drink acid before suffocating her with willow in order to cover up their tracks.
Tohouo was said to have been forced to drink acid as well and also stabbed but was able to send a distress alert to Maersk security unit which the Chief Security Officer (CSO) intercepted and contacted Police Commissioner Hakeem Odumosu.
A statement by Maersk said the three kids are safe and accounted for.
The statement signed by Richard Smith read, "We are very sorry to confirm that a colleague and his family have been attacked in their residence in Lagos, Nigeria during the evening of 8 December 2019. Tragically, the wife of our colleague passed away at the scene. Our colleague is in the hospital, where his condition is critical but stable. The 3 children are all safe and accounted for.
“Our thoughts and deepest sympathy go to the family. We will do whatever we can to support them in this tragedy,” says David Williams, Regional Managing Director of Africa for A.P. Moller - Maersk.
The relatives of the family are in the process of being notified.
Relevant authorities are investigating the incident. Maersk is supporting the investigation in every possible way," he noted.
