NIMA Will Tackle Marine Environment Issues In Nigeria - Organisers

Organisers of Nigerian Maritime Ambassadors (NIMA) Reality TV Show have said that the brand would tackle issues of Marine Pollution and Marine Environmental Issues bedeviling the nation's maritime sector.
Speaking to newsmen in Lagos on Monday during the brand unveiling ceremony, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Platforms Communications Concept, publishers of Platform Reporters Online News, Mr Sylvanus Obasi hinted that NIMA Reality TV Show would be “a yearly Reality Television Show for talent hunt and discovery  aimed at raising creative youngsters who are passionate about innovating practical solutions to maritime issues and challenges in Nigeria”. 

According to him, "The Winner of NIMA Reality TV Show will partner relevant maritime government agencies and organisations such as NIMASA, NIWA, NPA, NIOMR and others to execute a pet project called Cleaner Ocean Campaign (COC) which aims to embark on regular cleaning of seas, oceans, jetties, beaches and other marine environment while also creating  awareness to riverine communities on the dangers of marine pollution and marine litter. 

“Whereas the 1st and 2nd Runners Up will team up to undertake a project designed to champion Green Port Concept (GPC) aimed at promoting eco-friendly Ports environment through campaigns for reduction of noise, emissions and use of fossil fuel in ports and terminals as well as creating awareness to encourage planting of trees & flowers within ports and terminals which guarntees sustainable eco-friendly maritime work environment”, he noted.

Speaking on the Star Prize, the brand manager revealed that 10 million Naira worth of prizes are to be won, comprising: A car, Cash Prizes, Endorsement Deals, Media Tours & Publicity, Sponsored Luxury Vacation and so much more, including other consolation prizes for winners in award categories.
Responding to questions from newsmen on registration and who is eligible to contest, the frontline maritime journalist confirmed that registration has commenced following the unveiling on Monday, May 18th, 2022. 

He noted that the show is open to young and single guys and ladies who are between the age of 18 –  40; adding that contestants must be citizens of Nigeria with minimum education qualification of ‘O’ Level (SSCE) who are ready to abide by the terms and conditions guiding NIMA as a reality TV Show brand. 

He however called for sponsorship and collaborations  from government agencies, companies and organisations, businesses and good spirited individuals to partner the brand in achieving its objectives, while also taking advantage of daily Broadcasting of the show on national televisions to advertise their products and services to the public.
