The Seme Chapter Chairman of the Association of Nigerian Licensed Customs Agents (ANLCA), Mr. Onyekachi Ojinma has debunked allegations of fiscal policy violations and fraudulent practices against the Customs Area Controller (CAC) of Seme Command, Comptroller Dera Nnadi mni.
This is even as he has stated that such allegations are untrue and should be discarded by the public.
Recall that in an open letter to written by some individuals under the aegis of the Concerned Seme Border Freight Forwarders (CSBFF) to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu which was earlier published on some online platforms, alleged that the CAC of Seme Command, Comptroller Dera Nnadi had been involved in some fiscal policy violations, economic and financial crimes, fraudulent practices and unlawful extortion at the Seme border post.
However, in a press statement signed by the Seme Chapter ANLCA Chairman, made available to our correspondent noted that these allegations are untrue and should be discarded.
Ojinma stressed that Comptroller Dera Nnadi mni has been instrumental to the suppression of smuggling and other illegal activities in and around the border areas.
He also lauded the exceptional feats and seizures of smuggled Petroleum products, foreign parboiled rice, frozen products and other prohibited goods under the leadership of the CAC.
In his words he noted that "Significantly, the command under the leadership of Comptroller Dera Nnadi is doing a lot as regards curtailing smuggling at the Seme border areas. The command is ardent at intercepting high volume of smuggled Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) on daily basis as well as other smuggled prohibited items.
"The Comptroller is doing a good job. Kindly discarded those allegations you see here and there on the online media. They are untrue and should be discarded by the public” Ojinma concluded.
