Harboursandport.com: Abuja - President of the ECOWAS Commission Mr. Omar Alieu Touray has stressed the need for countries in the sub-region to address the challenges its facing before considering trading across Europe.
Touray disclosed this
at a briefing with journalists during a courtesy visit of the Chancellor of
Germany to the Commission.
According to him,
there is need to boost production in our countries but we need to address a
number of challenges before we talk about trading across Europe.
In his remarks, German
Chancellor His Excellency, Olaf Scholz , condemned the recent coup de'tat in
some of the African countries.
He said, "peace
and security is very important to every nation, military coup must not be
allowed within the region, ECOWAS need to kick against Terrorism.
He also condemned the
Hamas attack on Israel, killing of children and old people. He said Israel
has the right to defend itself and called for the release of all the hostages
by Hamas.
