The Comptroller-General of Customs (CGC), Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, has charged the newly appointed officers to redouble their efforts to ensure the Service achieves greater heights in its mandates of revenue generation, suppression of smuggling and trade facilitation.

Chief Superintendent of Customs National Public Relations Officer For Comptroller General of Customs, said that following the statutory retirement of some members of the management team of Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), the CGC approved the appointment and redeployment of new officers in acting capacity.
They were : "BM JIBO DCG Finance Administration and Technical Services (FATS); OA ALAJOGUN Ag. DCG Enforcement, Inspection and Investigation (EI&I); IG UMAR Ag. ACG Headquarters ; OA SALEFU Ag. ACG Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC).
Others are BA MAKINDE Ag. ACG Human Resource Development (HRD), and T BOMODI Ag. ACG Enforcement, Inspection and Investigation (EI&I)."
He said that the officers were appointed based on their exemplary services and dedication to the Nigeria Customs Service.
The service remains committed to providing strategic leadership to ensure effective and efficient service delivery for optimum performance.
He thanked the retired members of the management for their meritorious services.
Regarding the 2024 promotion examination for officers and men of the Nigeria Customs Service(NCS), CGC Adeniyi reaffirmed the Service's commitment to maintaining its transparency and justice in promoting deserving candidates.
CGC Adeniyi during an inspection visit to one of the examination venues at SASCON in Maitama District, Abuja, to assess the level of preparedness and conduct of the exercise, said:
