Harboursandport.com: Lagos - August 13, 2024: The Director General/CEO of Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA), Dr. Dayo Mobereola has said that the Agency abandoned the original plan for the controversial N50 billion floating dock because it was not the right plan.

Speaking at a interactive session with maritime journalists in Lagos, the NIMASA boss whoever did not give details, said he and his management team had recently visited the site of the floating dock, assuring that proper and adequate action will soon be taken soon.
He disclosed that at the end of the planning, the right plan that will be beneficial to seafarers, to the economy and to NIMASA will be put in place when it is finally deployed.
According to him, "The original plan was not the right plan for the floating dock, l wouldn't like to say too much about it.
"We are going to put the floating dock to a very very good use that once it is in use; it is going to be beneficial to the economy, it will be beneficial to the seafarers and it will be beneficial to NIMASA itself and we are working it.
"We know what floating dock is, we need to place it where it is appropriate. We been round the port, we went to Continently Shipyard, we been there, it's just a matter of time, we will do it," he assured.
