Harboursandports.com: Lagos- December 20, 2024: In a recent visit to the Nigerian Ports Authority, NPA, Headquarters on Thursday, December 19, 2024, Zacch Adedeji, Chairman of the Technical Sub-Committee overseeing the Federal Government’s policy on domestic crude oil and refined product sales in Naira, commended the NPA led One-Stop-Shop, OSS team for ensuring the smooth implementation of the initiative.
Adedeji, who also serves as the Executive Chairman of the Federal Inland Revenue Service, FIRS, expressed his gratitude to the NPA team for their significant role in the success of the presidential directive. He emphasized that the achievement reflected the team's dedication and patriotism. "We acknowledge this pioneering effort as a major milestone, and it showcases your commitment to the nation's progress," Adedeji said.
He further encouraged the team to continue their hard work, noting that the cooperation of all participating agencies was vital to the success of the initiative. "We extend our thanks to everyone involved for your exceptional teamwork and service to the country," he added.
In response, the Managing Director of NPA, Dr. Abubakar Dantsoho, thanked Adedeji for the commendation, stating that it would inspire them to continue advancing the initiative. He also took the opportunity to appreciate the Honourable Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola, for the leadership that contributed to the initiative’s success. "We are grateful to Chairman Zacch Adedeji for his unwavering support, which was pivotal to this achievement," Dantsoho remarked.
The successful implementation of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s groundbreaking initiative to sell crude and refined products in Naira has not only helped curb losses amounting to billions of Naira, but also strengthened national energy security. It has contributed to improving the country’s balance of trade, creating jobs, and eliminating the persistent shortage of petroleum products, along with the long queues that often accompany the holiday season.
