ETO Call Up: COMTUA Slams NPA, TTP Over Harboursandport Congestion Story

Harboursandport.com: Lagos, Nigeria - November 25, 2025: Following the story published by Harboursandport.com earlier Tuesday, the National President of the Council of Maritime Truck Unions and Associations, COMTUA, Adeyinka Aroyewun has slammed the management of the Nigerian Ports Authority, NPA and the Truck Transit Park, TTP for running a failed call up system.

Quoting Harboursandport.com story titled: "ETO SYSTEM OVERHAUL: TRICKS MUST MATCH TICKETS TO TERMINALS - APAPA PORT MANAGER," Aroyewun said that the Port Manager, Adebowale Lawal Abrahim explanation in the story only confirms COMTUA's position over the years that the call up system had failed.

The statement by COMTUA read in part, "It's almost five years into the call up regime and he is mentioning an obvious flaw we have often reiterated.

"While he is admitting the failure of the system to address the gridlock and congestion, he is gradually shifting the goal posts in the middle of the match.

"We have forever posited, that it is the Terminal Operators and not NPA (as it is now) that should be in charge of call up.

"For his enlightenment and records, all trucks signify their terminals of destination before approval given to them to be called up.

"That he is putting up a pseudo and fraudulent addition to the conditions of the failed call up in less than three months to the expiration of the TTP contract is laughable.

"We need not reinforce failure, NPA should allow Terminal Operators call trucks and let the congestion or gridlock disappear," he noted.
