We Have Showcased B' Odogwo To The World – Customs

Harboursandport.com: Lagos, Nigeria - February 20, 2026: The Nigeria Customs Service, NCS has announced that it has taken its trade electronic facilitation platform, B' Odogwo, to the global stage following its recorded success.

Disclosing this in an interview with Harboursandport.com, the National Public Relations Officer of the Service, Abdulahi Maiwada, said the Service met with some providers at the World Customs Organization, WCO Technology Conference held in Abu Dhabi, where B' Odogwo was showcased.

With its successful international debut, the Nigeria Customs Service believes B' Odogwo has proven that indigenous innovation can stand tall on the global stage despite challenges. Maiwada noted that the platform’s presentation at the conference, where it impressed global service providers, reflects the level of work invested in its development.

According to him, We met with some service providers, and part of what we did was showcase B' Odogwo. It was so impressive that a particular technology company admitted they never thought we could achieve it,” he said.

Maiwada stressed that the Service is committed to safeguarding B' Odogwo against persistent cyber attacks.

He explained that while attempts to sabotage the platform have occurred, the Service’s robust cybersecurity measures—including firewalls, “air defense” protocols, and a dedicated monitoring team—have ensured uninterrupted functionality since late last year.

It is one thing to attempt an attack, but another to succeed. We are not relenting,” he emphasized.

Acknowledging skepticism from some quarters, Maiwada noted that B' Odogwo, being a homegrown solution, has faced doubts but assured that the platform is a continuous process, evolving from its pilot phase at PTML to its current advanced state.

It is not a perfect system, but we are responding to the agitations and expectations of stakeholders. We will continue to update it until we are fully satisfied, Maiwada concluded.
