NPA Strengthens Regional Maritime Governance At Abuja MoU Capacity Building Launch

Harboursandport.com: Abuja, Nigeria - June 30, 2026: The Managing Director/CEO of the Nigerian Ports Authority, NPA Abubakar Dantsoho, has commended the Chairman of Abuja MoU, Ebrima Sillah, Minister of Transport, Works and Infrastructure of the Republic of The Gambia; the Vice-Chairman, Adegboyega Oyetola, Minister of Marine and Blue Economy; and the Secretariat led by Sunday Umoren, for their leadership of the Memorandum of Understanding on Port State Control for the West and Central African Region, Abuja MoU.

While acknowledging the contributions of the Lloyd’s Register Foundation at the launch of the Abuja MoU, Dantsoho describes the program as a significant milestone in the ongoing efforts to strengthen institutional capacity, enhance maritime governance, and support the effective implementation of Port State Control throughout the Abuja MoU Region.
