Harboursandport: Lagos---The
Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi and other Chief Executives in the
industry are expected to grace the annual international conference and
exhibition, the Nigerian International Maritime Ports
and Terminals (NIMPORT), to hold between 22nd and 24th
of August, 2017 in Lagos.

Chairman
of NIMPORT, Fortune Idu, explained that will be exceptional because it
marks NIMPORT’s 10th Anniversary in
helping the industry to set developmental
agenda and carrying out performance assessment while serving as an interface
with the public.
Idu
noted that the theme of this year’s
Conference is “Improving Connectivity, Enhancing Trade”
and it is aimed at “bringing
together all maritime industry leaders to network and
discuss on pressing issues relating to global maritime trade, port and logistic
development and the industry role in Nigeria quest for economic diversification
and improvement in the non-oil export”.
Moreover,
the Conference is geared to promote development and attract investment into the
maritime ports and logistics sector. The organizer of NIMPORT
2017 is FCI International Limited which is an international development
consulting company; in collaboration with the Nigeria Maritime Business
Promotion Committee member and strategic partners which include, The
Federal Ministry of Transportation, The Nigerian Ports Authority,
Nigerian Maritime Safety Administration Agency, Nigerian Shipper’s Council,
Nigeria Customs, National Inland waterways, Onne Oil and Gas Free Zone, INTELS,
Cares, SANY, Nigeria Export Promotion Council amongst others.
