Harboursandport.com: Abuja - FG has approved the sum of N720 billion ($1.5 billion) for the rehabilitation of the Port Harcourt refinery, even as the governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike, expressed concern over the said approval.
Wike, speaking on Channels television Wednesday evening, noted that approval is not release of funds. He said several such approvals have been made in the past which has not actually translated into action work to justify such approvals.
He said that the approval seems to be politically motivated as it is coming towards the end of this administration. Wike however stressed that should the rehabilitation work be done and the refinery becomes functional, it will be to the benefit of the people of Rivers State.
