The governor of Kaduna State, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai, was missing at the meeting between President Muhammadu Buhari and governors on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) at Aso Rock on Tuesday, May 31, 2022.
All members of the Progressive Governors Forum were in attendance except Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna, who was being represented by his deputy, Hadiza Balarabe.
The National Chairman of the APC, Abdullahi Adamu; the Chief of Staff, Ibrahim Gambari; and the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha, were also in attendance.
A few hours after the meeting, President Buhari travelled to Spain with the Minister for Justice, Abubukar Malami, his Interior Affairs counterpart, Rauf Aregbesola, and others.
The meeting comes a few days before the APC presidential primary election slated for June 6, 2022.
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has elected Alhaji Atiku Abubakar as its presidential candidate for the 2023 election.
The winner of the APC primary will face Atiku and other candidates in the election.
