Former Governor of Abia State and serving Senator, Theodore Orji, has refuted allegations linking him to fraudulent activities involving Effdee Nigeria Limited, describing the claims as entirely false and malicious.
In a statement released by his liaison office, Senator Orji condemned the publication in question as a calculated attempt to tarnish his reputation. He criticized the report for lacking factual accuracy and accused the authors of failing to verify information before going public.
Among the inaccuracies pointed out was the claim that Orji served as governor in 2016 and 2017, despite his tenure ending in May 2015. The statement further clarified that Senator Orji has no affiliations with either Mr. Uchenna Erondu or Mr. Austin Akuma—names mentioned in the report—stressing that neither had any involvement in his administration.
Orji also categorically denied any association with Effdee Nigeria Limited, the company at the centre of the allegations.
“This publication is not only false but also maliciously intended to damage Senator Orji’s hard-earned reputation. He is a man known for his integrity and dedication to public service,” the statement read.
In response, the former governor is demanding a full retraction of the story across all platforms where it was published, including national newspapers and online media outlets, along with a public apology.
