The Nigerian Navy’s Western Naval Command has reaffirmed its commitment to deepening collaboration with SIFAX Group in a renewed effort to safeguard the nation’s maritime domain.
This reaffirmation came during a courtesy visit by the Flag Officer Commanding (FOC), Rear Admiral Michael Gregory Oamen, to the management of SIFAX Group. The visit underscored the Navy’s appreciation for the company’s consistent support in maritime security operations.
According to a statement issued by Olumuyiwa Akande, Group Head of Corporate Communications at SIFAX Group, Rear Admiral Oamen stressed the vital role of synergy between the military and private sector in ensuring the safety and prosperity of Nigeria’s coastal waters.
“We have a constitutional mandate to secure our maritime domain for both economic activities and national security,” Rear Admiral Oamen stated. “This is not a responsibility we can carry out in isolation. Our longstanding partnership with stakeholders like SIFAX Group has been invaluable in fulfilling this duty.”
Speaking on behalf of the Group Chairman, Mrs. Wunmi Eniola-Jegede, the Group Coordinating Director, welcomed the naval delegation and reaffirmed the company’s dedication to working closely with the Navy.
“SIFAX is a home for all maritime stakeholders, including the Nigerian Navy. We cherish this partnership and are committed to continued collaboration to enhance security and promote trade,” she said.
The visit reinforced the shared vision of both parties to build a safer maritime space conducive to business growth, efficient logistics, and national economic development. Both the Navy and SIFAX Group pledged to intensify joint efforts to secure Nigeria’s waterways.
