B’Odogwu Platform Lauded As Game-Changer, Women Leaders Shine At Maritime Seminar

Harboursandport.com: LAGOS, Nigeria — November 5, 2025: Maritime stakeholders gathered in Lagos for the inaugural edition of a one-day seminar hosted by Hynek Media in collaboration with the Media Anti-Corruption Initiative. 



The event spotlighted innovation, indigenous technology, and the rising influence of women in Nigeria’s maritime sector.


A major highlight was the commendation of the Nigeria Customs Service’s B’Odogwu digital platform. The platform was widely praised for streamlining trade processes, reducing operational costs, and enhancing the ease of doing business across the country’s ports.


Prince Olayiwola Shittu, former President of the Association of Nigerian Licensed Customs Agents, ANLCA, was represented by Babatunde Mukaila. He joined other dignitaries in recognizing B’Odogwu as a transformative tool for the industry. Other notable attendees included Boniface Okechukwu Aniebonam, founder of NAGAFF and NNPP; Tochukwu Esizi, President of NAGAFF; maritime expert Dr. Segun Musa; and Hadjia Rollens Macfoy, President of Women in Maritime Africa, WIMA.


The seminar also celebrated the growing leadership and impact of women in the maritime space. Applause was given to:  Kikelomo Adeola, a Deputy Comptroller General of Customs, DCG, for her role in driving Customs modernization; Comptroller Hauwa Abubakar, for her leadership at the Lekki Free Trade Zone; and Comptroller Joy Edelduok, for her command at the Kirikiri Lighter Terminal, KLT Customs Command.


These women were hailed as trailblazers, shaping the future of Nigeria’s maritime landscape through innovation and strategic leadership.


The event concluded with awards presented to key contributors, including Prince Shittu and Dr. Aniebonam, in recognition of their enduring impact on the sector.
