Harboursandport.com: Lagos - The Governor of Edo State, His Excellency Godwin Obaseki has confirmed participation at the Nigeria International Maritime Summit.
The Governor is scheduled to lead presentations at a highlight session of the summit, and also as a Special Guest at the Maritime Industry Gala. The Edo State Government, desirous of opening Edo State to sea trade, has embarked on the Benin City River Port Project.
The port is planned to be an agro-allied port with industrial park and Roro facility, and is currently undergoing the viability process working with an international Transaction Adviser. The project is one of the legacy projects of the current administration and will be on showcase at the Nigeria International Maritime Summit.
The Nigeria International Maritime Summit is the only 'whole-of-value-chain'
business event for international organizations, policymakers, regulators,
development organisations, operators, service providers, and consumers in
Nigeria's maritime industry. It incorporates a strategic conference, a maritime
trade exhibition, and high-level networking opportunities, creating a first-rate
business development and policy activation opportunity. The Summit will be
a hybrid of in-person and virtual participation.
