In anticipated collaboration with the Nigerian Customs Service (NCS) the Kirikiri Lighter Terminal (KLT) chapter of the Association of Nigerian Licensed Customs Agents (ANLCA) says plans are at top gear for the training of it's members in the early part of the year 2022.
While addressing Journalists on Wednesday, the Chairman of the Chapter, Comrade Esther Oluwatoyin Oyeleke noted that in 2022, the Chapter will be more focused on the training of its members in all areas of customs operations saying it is important to master the tactics of one's job.
The ANCLA KLT Chairman who also doubles as the Managing Director/ Chief Executive Officer of Estymuels Integrated Service Limited said the plans for the training will take off early next year.
In her words: "I have gotten a lot of plans for members in the chapter and I will kick-start them by early next year. I plan to go into collaboration with the Customs to have our members as part of their training because you have to know the tactics of whatever you are doing. You have to learn the tricks of whatever you are doing, that is my focus" Oyeleke said.
Speaking earlier, Oyeleke noted that it is expedient of her to shed light and correct the wrong notions made by some persons laying claim to the chairmanship of the chapter. She stated further that after she was duly elected as the President of ANLCA KLT Chapter in February 2021, she had been recognised by government agencies in the chapter and has been accorded sthe same status.
She however debunked all the assertions earlier made by some persons who had been parading themselves as the Chairman of the Chapter.
"I am doing this Press briefing because I felt it's high time I did it and that my voice should be heard. I read in the news that some people are referring to themselves as Western Port members. I don't know why they have refused to go out of ANLCA. If they had chosen another name, nobody will disturb them.
"I also read online what somebody from KLT calls himself the chairman of the Chapter. I want to state categorically that as far as ANLCA is concerned in KLT here, I am the Chairman.
"There is nothing they are doing in KLT command that I will not be called upon. When the ACG visited some time ago, I was invited by the Controller of the Command and I was part of the people that welcomed her. I have also told my members to bring their grievances to my table because I don't like confrontations. I achieve whatever I want to achieve through dialogue."
The ANCLA KLT boss noted that she has been faced with many challenges. She said one of her major challenges was the fact that her predecessor failed to hand over peacefully to her.
"There are lots of challenges. This is a place where you ought to be without any stress, but one is still passing through stress. In the last couple of months, I have not found it easy but in every challenge, I have become stronger" Oyeleke concluded.
