Seme Customs Initiate Investigation Into Alleged Misconduct By Officers In Viral Video Clip.

Harboursandport.com: Lagos, December 3, 2024: The Seme Area command of the Nigeria Customs Service, NCS has launched an investigation into the viral video where officers of the service were seen maltreating members of the public.



The Customs Area Controller, CAC, Kayode Kolade, expressed deep empathy for the affected public members and strongly condemned the unethical conduct. He emphasized that the actions of these officers contradict the values and operational standards of the Service. 


He noted this in a statement signed by the Public Relations Officer of the Command, Hussaini Abdullahi.


He also instructed that the involved officers be withdrawn and interrogated to ensure decisive disciplinary actions are taken against anyone found guilty. He also assured the public that the results of the investigative panel would be disclosed once the investigation is complete.


While encouraging stakeholders and the public using the Lagos-Abidjan Corridor to continue their lawful activities, the CAC assured that the Command is dedicated to fostering a safe and conducive environment for legitimate trade to flourish.
