Kebbi Customs Command Marks International Customs Day, Reaffirms Commitment To Efficiency , Security, Prosperity

Harboursandport.com: Birnin Kebbi, Nigeria - January 27, 2025: The Kebbi Area Command of the Nigeria Customs Service, NCS marks this year's International Customs Day, ICD at the Command's office in Kebbi, reaffirming its commitment to efficiency, security and prosperity.



The event, which was attended by dignitaries including the Emir of Gwandu, retired Customs officers, stakeholders, and representatives from sister agencies, featured a lecture presentation by the Customs Area Controller, Comptroller Iheanacho Ernest Ojike.


Ojike emphasised the NCS's commitment to achieving the best output, highlighting the key drivers behind the administration's successes. He noted that the implementation of policy thrusts, such as Consolidation, Innovation, and Collaboration, has been crucial to achieving efficiency, security, and prosperity.


DCG Aminu Abubakar Dangaladima (Rtd) speaking as a special guest stated that “ as we celebrate International Customs day , NCS knows the commitment and hard work of its officers and men who strive daily to ensure the smooth operation of international trade. The service also acknowledged the invaluable support of our stakeholders, sister agencies, including the trading communities, transporters, and other government agencies. 


While Comptroller Hussaini Suleiman Kangiwa (RTD) PhD. stressed the need for effective use of information and Communication Technology (ICT), improved collaboration with the sister agencies and engaging in meaningful research and enforcement of government fiscal policies.


 They acknowledged the hard work and commitment of customs officers, as well as the invaluable support of stakeholders and sister agencies.


 Ojike stressed the importance of effective collaboration with stakeholders and sister agencies, as well as the need for customs officers to be committed to their duties.


The ceremony also featured the distribution of souvenirs to guests, as a token of appreciation for their support and to foster interagency collaboration.


The celebration of International Customs Day is an annual event that aims to promote awareness of the role of customs in facilitating global trade, as well as its efforts to promote security and sustainability.


The Kebbi Area Command's celebration of International Customs Day demonstrates its commitment to upholding the ideals of efficiency, security, and prosperity, and its dedication to contributing to the growth and development of Nigeria's economy.
