Harboursandport.com: Lagos, Nigeria – November 21, 2025: The Truck Transit Park, TTP has blamed terminal operators for the persistent traffic congestion along Wharf Road in Apapa, insisting that inefficiencies in coming in trucks are fueling gridlock around the port corridor.
Trucks Transit Parks Limited is a transportation infrastructure company that manages truck traffic and provides technology solutions for logistics challenges.
In an exclusive interview with Harboursandport.com, Nancie Nnadi, Head of Corporate Communication at TTP, explained that while the Nigerian Ports Authority, NPA has begun engaging terminal operators to address the situation, the slow pace of truck clearance remains the primary cause of the bottleneck.
“The terminals are not clearing as efficiently as they should. That’s why the traffic persists,” Nnadi said.
On the issue of the company's ticket for trucks wishing to access the port, Nnadi dismissed claims that truck booking tickets on the TTP platform were unavailable. She stressed that the platform remains fully operational and accessible to all users.
“There is no time you want to book a ticket, you input in all your details, and it won’t be available. If someone says tickets are unavailable, they are likely buying from a third party. The company's platforms, the App and the Website are always available,” she clarified.
She noted that TTP is open to further discussions with stakeholders, including port operators and truck owners, to resolve lingering concerns. However, she emphasized that the responsibility for easing traffic lies largely with terminal operators who must improve their operational speed and efficiency.
The comments come amid renewed frustration from commuters and port users over the return of gridlock in Apapa, raising questions about enforcement, coordination, and accountability in Nigeria’s port access management.
